The work

Three kinds of build.

Custom applications

Web and mobile, accessible from the first commit rather than retrofitted at the end. It costs less that way and everybody knows it, which is why it’s strange that almost nobody does it.

Accessibility engineering

Existing product, real barriers. I find them, rank them, fix them, and leave your team able to keep it that way. WCAG is the floor here, not the ceiling.

Tools for how a different brain works

The ones I built for myself, opened up. Knowledge systems, capture tools, and the software that came out of needing something that didn’t exist.

The difference

I'm not reading about the barrier. I hit it this morning.

Most accessibility work is done by people who have to imagine the problem. That's not a character flaw, it's just a much slower way to find things. Autistic, ADHD, dyslexic — I find the friction the way your users find it, except I can also read the stack trace.
