This is the privacy policy for ryanperez.ca, Ryan Perez's personal and speaking site. It covers the site itself — not Bow Tie Kreative's client work, and not any other property Ryan runs.
What this site collects
This site receives information you submit through forms, technical information needed to serve pages, and optional measurement information when you allow it:
- The contact form. Your name, email, organization, enquiry type, relevant event or project details, budget range and message are emailed straight to Ryan's inbox. They are not saved in a database on this site — the form has no storage layer, only a mail step. Replies come from Ryan directly, to the address you gave.
- Newsletter sign-up, the media kit download, and the speaker one-sheet download. All three add your email address to the same mailing list (run through Emailit, our email provider), so you can be sent updates and the file gets unlocked immediately. Every message from that list carries an unsubscribe link.
- Buying the book. Checkout for Turn Your Pain Into Projects runs in an embedded Zylvie checkout. Zylvie processes your payment directly — this site never receives or stores your card details. Zylvie's own privacy policy governs that part of the transaction.
- Applying to be a Hustle Zone guest. Your name, email, and everything else you write on that application are emailed to Ryan the same way the contact form is — not stored in a database here either. If you're accepted and actually appear on the show, the appearance-and-recording release you agreed to when applying is what governs the recording, editing, and publishing of that episode.
There is no account system, no login, and no membership area on this site. Nothing here requires you to sign up for anything before you can read it.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Optional tracking starts off. Use Privacy preferences at the bottom of any page to choose analytics and advertising separately, reject both, or withdraw a previous choice. The contact form works without either. Your choice is saved in this browser's local storage for up to 180 days; clearing browser storage removes it.
- Analytics: when allowed, Google Tag Manager loads Google Analytics to measure page visits, traffic sources and accepted speaking enquiries. Google can receive technical information such as IP address, browser details, page URLs and cookie identifiers.
- Advertising: when allowed, Meta Pixel measures page views and accepted speaking enquiries to help attribute and improve ads. It can set cookies and send page URLs, technical information and identifiers to Meta, which may associate activity with a Meta account. Google advertising tags also require this choice; on this site they load only when analytics is allowed too.
- Enquiry events: the website sends an enquiry type and a randomly generated event identifier after the email provider accepts a speaking enquiry. It does not add your name, email, message, budget or other form answers to these measurement events. Automatic Meta event detection is disabled by the site's pixel configuration, and the site does not supply advanced matching data.
Withdrawing advertising consent stops future pixel events and removes known first-party advertising cookies. Withdrawing analytics also reloads the page so previously loaded Google scripts are no longer running. Withdrawal does not erase information already sent. A supported Global Privacy Control browser signal keeps advertising off. With JavaScript disabled, neither optional tracker loads. Browser blockers can also prevent measurement.
Read Google's privacy policy andMeta's privacy policy for their use, retention and privacy controls. The embedded Zylvie book checkout may set its own cookies; those are governed by Zylvie's policy and are separate from these measurement choices.
Who else sees it
The services used for the functions described above include:
- Emailit — sends the contact form's email and runs the mailing list.
- Zylvie — processes book purchases.
- Google and Meta — optional analytics and advertising measurement, described above.
- Directus and Dokploy — the content system and hosting behind the site. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process technical request information and logs needed to serve and secure the site.
How long things stick around
A contact-form message is never stored here in the first place — it exists only as the email in Ryan's inbox, kept as long as any other email. A mailing-list address stays until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed.
Your rights
Email hello@ryanperez.ca to ask what's on file for you, correct it, or have it deleted. For the mailing list specifically, the unsubscribe link in any message does this instantly without needing to ask.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and no data is knowingly collected from them.
Changes to this policy
If what this site collects or how it's used changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will move. Significant changes will also be noted here directly rather than buried in a version history.
